Our Thesis

OUR MISSION

InCube Ventures is a venture firm that invests in and nurtures promising life sciences companies. Our mission is to identify extraordinary innovations that solve unmet clinical needs for large patient populations, and help bring those innovations to market. InCube Ventures is the venture arm of InCube Labs, a research and development lab located in Silicon Valley and San Antonio. InCube's mission is to create and commercialize medical solutions that change the standard of care. InCube Ventures has multiple funds including its first fund, DFJ InCube Ventures, managed with Draper Fisher Jurvetson. All of our funds focus are diversified by stage, and are focused on opportunities to dramatically improve patient outcomes.

OUR APPROACH

InCube Ventures is a specialized fund focusing on breakthrough innovations in medicine. Since our founding in 2008, we have funded promising healthcare innovations from obesity and chronic pain to personal health management and cardiac care. Our objective is to identify, nurture and grow companies with the potential to dramatically improve patient outcomes. We are not interested in incremental improvements, rather we look for those companies with solutions that can set new standards of care and reduce healthcare costs. Some of the companies we fund come out of InCube Labs, Mir Imran's research and development lab, and others come from the outside. Our team reviews hundreds of business plans a year and meets with dozens of entrepreneurs. We are very thoughtful about our investments, and select a fraction of the companies we see to become part of the InCube family. Our fund consists of both institutional and individual investors that believe in our mission of radically improving healthcare. We have a diversified portfolio of early, mid and late stage life sciences companies, with a particular focus on pharma, biologics and devices.

OUR DIFFERENCE

We have decades of experience in developing and growing life sciences companies. We're deeply engaged with our companies, helping them mitigate risk at all stages of their evolution. We leverage the track record and experience of Mir Imran who has founded more than 20 life sciences companies, 15 of which have achieved exits either through acquisitions or IPOs. We work with our companies to reduce risk - including technical, regulatory & clinical, reimbursement, Intellectual Property, and competitive - and chart the best path forward. We serve as advisors, counselors, Board members; in some cases, we are part of the founding team. We assist our companies in setting strategy, solidifying IP positions, navigating regulatory paths, conducting clinical trials, securing funding, and managing acquisitions and IPOs. Our relationships with our portfolio companies are based on trust, mutual respect and a shared dedication to improving healthcare.
